Jerusalem resident charged with contact with foreign agent: Photographed security force sites

|
The Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment with the Jerusalem District Court against Tariq Awwida (53), a Jerusalem resident, for contact with a foreign agent. According to the indictment, about a year ago, Awwida sent a request to join a Telegram group called 'The Resistance,' in which the foreign agent operated. The two corresponded about once every two weeks, and during the contact, the agent asked Awwida to photograph various locations in Jerusalem for money, including Jewish residential neighborhoods and locations of security forces and police. At the agent's request, Awwida downloaded a dedicated application to his phone designed to allow the two to correspond securely and encrypted.
