Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee MK Yuli Edelstein made a statement addressing the draft exemption law, saying: "Representatives of the ultra-Orthodox factions in the Knesset are not willing to accept the legislative framework I formulated." Effective personal sanctions, institutional sanctions if targets aren't met and the inclusion of high draft targets. Without these it won't be a draft law - it will be a bluff law." Edelstein added that "my framework represents a certain compromise."
