Edelstein: 'Without non-negotiable clauses it won't be a draft law but a bluff law'

|
Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee MK Yuli Edelstein made a statement addressing the draft exemption law, saying: "Representatives of the ultra-Orthodox factions in the Knesset are not willing to accept the legislative framework I formulated." According to him, "The law is based on principles we've discussed throughout the process and includes several substantive clauses that cannot be compromised on. Effective personal sanctions, institutional sanctions if targets aren't met and the inclusion of high draft targets. Without these it won't be a draft law - it will be a bluff law." Edelstein added that "my framework represents a certain compromise."
