Chief Superintendent Roy Waldman was recently appointed as president of the police disciplinary court and will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner. The police had previously criticized his appointment because Waldman, former head of the investigation division at the Central District's Investigation Unit, was convicted in 2016 by the court he now heads for conduct unbecoming a police officer and failure to follow orders. It should be emphasized that Waldman appealed his conviction and was acquitted due to reasonable doubt, but police sources have previously claimed that "whoever heads the court must be completely clean - 100%, not 99%."
