The Chief Rabbis have authorized El Al to operate emergency medical flights during the upcoming Sabbath to evacuate Israelis from abroad. "Due to numerous life-threatening situations and medical requests requiring immediate return to Israel in cases of life-saving circumstances, El Al has decided to operate special flights during the upcoming Sabbath," the company announced, adding that "these flights will be designated as life-saving medical emergency flights." The company further stated that "approval was received from the Chief Rabbis, and it was decided that flights will depart to Israel from Larnaca and Athens. The flights will be free of charge for all approved passengers, and at this stage, there will be three flights."
