Ella Haimi, widow of fallen hostage Tal Haimi, and Silvia Cunio, mother of hostages David and Ariel Cunio, lit torches at a ceremony held by the Eshkol Regional Council in memory of those murdered from the council and calling for the release of hostages. During the ceremony, Haimi said, 'My children need to grow up with hope and awareness that the state will protect them as their father protected them. My children need to believe in this country and its leaders, and continue the legacy of their Holocaust survivor grandparents.' Cunio said at the ceremony, 'While we are waiting, the hostages can no longer wait. They have no independence, they are not free.'
