France's foreign minister attended memorial ceremonies in Israel – but won't meet with any official

|
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot arrived for a private visit to Israel to participate in commemoration events for the October 7 massacre. Barrot visited Hostages Square in Tel Aviv and spoke at the Nova memorial ceremony. Unusually, he will not meet with any official Israeli representative, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his counterpart Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar. France emphasized that this is a private visit and not a political one.
