Report: Israel planned to strike Iran this month but was stopped by Trump

|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing to renew extensive strikes against Iran and even ordered the IDF to plan a new, major attack earlier this month, the Financial Times reported, citing three sources involved in the matter. According to the sources, the IDF prepared for an aerial campaign lasting several days, scheduled for the weekend of October 10. The campaign was designed to include strikes against civilian infrastructure – such as power stations – alongside nuclear facilities and targets associated with the regime. Ultimately, the operation did not proceed, and the sources indicated that the reason was U.S. President Donald Trump's opposition to renewing the confrontation before the midterm elections.
