CNN reported that Iran has begun laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. President Donald Trump responded sharply in a social media post: "If Iran is putting mines in the Strait of Hormuz, and we have no reports that they have done so, we want them removed, immediately! If mines have been placed for any reason whatsoever and are not removed immediately, the military consequences for Iran will be at a level not seen before. On the other hand, if they remove what may have been placed - it will be a huge step in the right direction!"
