The head of the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Jeffrey Crouse, was fired for contradicting U.S. President Donald Trump's statements about destroying Iran's nuclear program. Reuters news agency reported that while the reasons are not officially known, the move was intended to punish officials in intelligence, military and law enforcement whose views contradict Trump's. Crouse's dismissal came after he published a report estimating that the American strike on Iran only set back its nuclear program by months, contradicting Trump's claims of "total destruction."
