A driver ran over two police officers in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber Sunday night. The two suffered mild injuries while the driver escaped the scene.
The two were in the process of checking the papers of Palestinian suspects when a car suddenly ran them over. Two Palestinians were also lightly injured.
The Police Department initially thought that the incident was another case of vehicular rampage – following an earlier attack inTel Aviv.
Yet further investigation has revealed that the Palestinian who tried to escape having his papers checked accidently hit the police officers and then escaped the scene.
His car has been found, Police forces are canvassing the area for the driver.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Palestinians hurled Molotov cocktails at Beit Yonatan, in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan. No injuries or damage were reported. Security forces are canvassing the area.
