Grapel spoke to the embassy representatives who later told the Foreign Ministry that he was doing well.
Israeli diplomats in Cairo have spoken to the Egyptian prosecution and said that they will continue to work towards Grapel's release. The man Egypt suspects of espionage for Israel, made aliyah from the US inorder to serve in the IDF and was wounded during the Second Lebanon War.
Earlier Tuesday, Egyptian daily Al Masri al-Yom wrote that Grapel had met with membersof the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical factions in Egypt.
Israel continues to deny any involvement. Foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman said that "this is a mistake or strange behavior on the part of the Egyptians."
