A South-African aid agency announced Thursday that it has launch a Gaza-bound aid convoy carrying various goods to the Strip.
The fleet of trucks will cross Africa in what organizers described as a "solidarity journey."
Sheikh Walid el-Saadi, the director of the , South African relief agency, told Iran's Press TV said that the inspiration behind the convoy was the solidarity the people of Africa feel with the people of Gaza.
"We will drive almost 10,000 kilometers from South Africa and reached the people of Gaza through Sudan. From Sudan, we will take a ferry boat from Port Sudan to Al-Arish because the Egyptians are not allowing us to drive through any Egyptian roads with our convoy.
"The Gaza people and government officials' dream is to see a convoy coming from the South African region through Africa and reach the people of Gaza," he said.
