Right-wing groups are claiming that activists attacked a vehicle belonging to Judea and Samaria Division commander Brigadier-General Nitzan Alon at the Tapuach Junction. They claim the officer left the site after several youths surrounded and kicked his car. No comment was received from the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.
The incident occurred as hundreds of worshippers visited Joseph's Tomb inNablus on the anniversary of biblical Joseph's death. IDF soldiers arrested 20 worshippers who entered the site without a permit. The army allowed some 20 buses to enter the site.
- The Shomron Regional Council and Rabbi Elyakim Levanon boycotted the event following an argument over the number of buses that will be authorized to enter Nablus. The council accused elements of the security establishment of "humiliating conduct."
Ynet learned that initially, the settlements' heads demanded that 40 buses be allowed into the compound, but only 20 were granted entry – each bus shuttling no more than 50 people – in rotation, in order to prevent worshipers from barricading themselves inside, as they did during the last mass prayer service held in Joseph's Tomb.
