Peres thanks Greece for stopping flotilla

President tells Greek counterpart Carolos Papoulias Greece has joined anti-terror, pro-peace camp

President Shimon Peres hosted his Greek counterpart Carolos Papoulias in his Jerusalem residence on Monday and thanked him for his country's help instopping the Gaza flotilla.

Greece has joined the anti-terror and pro-peace camp, Peres told Papoulias. He noted that Hamas in Gaza champions terror, smuggles weapons from Iran and does not seek peace.
He added that Israel pulled out of Gaza on its own initiative but was 'rewarded' with rocket fire. The president also thanked his counterpart for aid sent by Greece during the Carmel fire .Your planes were the first to arrive, we won't forget this, he said.
Papoulias discussed the current dire financial state in Greece which he described as unprecedented.
