Syrian official news agency SANA on Tuesday reported that a final agreement had been reached between Syrian authorities and an Arab League committee tasked with finding a solution to end seven months of unrest.
However, the Arab League announced that Damascus has yet to respond to its proposal.

"The agreement between Syria and the Arab League has been reached and an official announcement will be published on Wednesday by the League's headquarters in Cairo," the Syrian news agency said.
No further details on the nature of the agreement or its timetable have been reported.
- The United States said it welcomed efforts by the international community to put a stop to violence in Syria, adding that it still believed Syrian President Bashar Assad should step down.
Over the weekend, Arab League representatives met in Qatar with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem and presented him with a plan for the immediate cessation of violence and the launching of a "national dialogue."
Syria's envoy to the Arab League Yossef Ahmad said that Damascus is mulling the proposal.
