Hundreds protest against racism in Tel Aviv

Some 600 people took part in a Tel Aviv demonstration against racism directed at the Ethiopian community on Wednesday. At the end of the protest, about half of the demonstrators marched in the streets of Tel Aviv.
Many of the participants were members of the Ethiopian community, including Mulet Hararo ,the student who marched from Kiryat Malakhi to Jerusalem to protest racism. Social protest leader Daphni Leef and Meretz MKs Ilan Ghilon and Nitzan Horovitz also attended the protest.

"This protest is just beginning and next time we will be disrupting the Israeli society in places like the Azrieli junction and the Rabin Square," Hararo said.
"This protest is not a private matter of the Ethiopian community but concerns our entire society," Mazi Tuzezo told the crowd.
"An Ethiopian child living in Israel dreams less and it's not because he's less gifted but because society tells him he can't," educator Itamar Kramer said.
The protest concluded with a performance of the Israeli anthem.
