The protest tent erected by Tira residents to signal that they identify with the struggle of the Palestinian prisoners in Israel who are currently on a hunger strike burnt down over the weekend.
The activists, who are claiming that it was torched, have no idea who was behind the act and with their lack of faith in the police; they have refrained from filing a complaint over the matter. On Tuesday they told Ynet that they plan to re-erect the tent and expand their activities.

"We have no idea who is behind the fire or what their intentions were. They have no respect and are irresponsible," the organizers told Ynet.
"We didn't expect it to come to a situation where the tent, erected for the prisoners as a continuance of their struggle for rights is set on fire. We take this very seriously and hope to get to the perpetrators behind the attack. These actions do not deter us, they strengthen our stance."
The organizers said that they preferred not to file a complaint with the police "I don't think the police would find the arsonists. We will handle the matter in a professional manner," one of the organizers stated.
