Former President Moshe Katsav has failed to get his seven-year sentence revoked or reduced. Supreme Court Justice Esther Hayut on Sunday denied his motion to hold an additional hearing on his case.
Hayut wrote that the convicted rapist's attorney Yoram Sheftel "had left no stone unturned and raised no less than four fundamental issues and various minor issues which he thinks warrant an additional hearing."

She further added, "I did not find any reason to grant the motion based on any of the claims and therefore the motion is denied."
The judge said that the Katsav case is not an exception which warrants further discussion on its verdict. The only way Katsav's sentence will be reduced now is through a presidential pardon.
