Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Liberman responded to criticism over his willingness to compromise on the issue of haredi conscription, claiming that "willingness to compromise does not mean abandoning values and principles." Regarding a government relying on Ra'am and the Joint List, he said "it won't happen," adding that to prevent elections and "put an end to the Netanyahu era, there is no escape from making difficult decisions." On conscription, he said: "In 2018, I introduced a conscription bill drafted by the IDF and the security establishment – the law still constitutes a worthy basis for formulating agreements." He concluded: "I am not acting out of personal ambition to be prime minister at any cost. I emphasized that for me, this is an option and not an obsession. I am not engaged in political maneuvers and am not trying to sabotage anyone."
