Village Council head Rezik Nofal told Ynet that the children – aged 3,5 and 6 – were playing around in a house and at some point decided to go down to the basement.

"They apparently entered the refrigerator and could not open the door from the inside," he said, adding that the kids undressed due to the intense heat inside the refrigerator.

According to Nofal, in the late hours of the evening a relative of one of the children found them locked inside the refrigerator, lifeless.
"We immediately evacuated the bodies to the government hospital in Ramallah," the council head said. "The entire village was in shock."
Nofal said there is a shortage of playgrounds and public parks in the village. "We are located in Area C and are not allowed to build anything," he said. "The children here are bored and run around in the streets all day." Area C is under full Israeli security control.
The children will be laid to rest in the village later today.
Palestinian police have launched an investigation into the incident.
