The Israel Navy missile boat fleet on Wednesday completed extensive training exercises which it has been holding for the last few weeks.

During the exercises the Navy carried out a ship-to-ship missile test. The previous ship-to-ship missile test was held over a decade ago. The missile hit an empty ship which simulated the target. Israel Air Force Combathelicopters and Panther ('Atalef') helicopters accompanied the missile analyzing its flight pattern.

Navy Commander Vice Admiral Ram Rotberg said "In the exercise, the Third Flotilla (Shayetet 3) practiced complex scenarios and increased its abilities (against) enemy threats. The flotilla troops showed impressive capabilities and proved that they are ready for any task they are faced with."
- The naval commander added: "The navy will continue to strengthen and increase cooperation with the (military's) various branches and will continue to act to defend the maritime space and maintain the security of Israel's citizens.
