Former Mossad Chief Meir Dagan hasreturned to Israel from Belarus, where he underwent a liver transplant. He has been hospitalized and is said to be in stable condition.
Yossi Ben Hanan, a friend of Dagan, wrote in Yedioth Ahronoth on Tuesday: "Meir is recuperating and wishes to thank everyone."

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko saidin a press conference last week that Dagan's liver transplant procedure was successfully performed in his country several weeks ago.
Lukashenko said that Belarus agreed to host the procedure after the US, Germany and Sweden refused. Sources close to Dagan rejected the claims. Sweden was never approached, they said, and Dagan didn't qualify for the American transplant criteria, which is why Belarus was chosen.
Dagan's friends wished him a speedy recovery and said they hope he will quickly return to the public arena. Fellow former Mossad Chief Danny Yatom said: "I hope he will return to us soon as possible." Rafi Eitan ,another former Mossad official, added: "Dagan is a strong and determined man, I hope he will pull through."
