The IDF Spokesperson addressed footage showing a soldier shooting from a distance at the legs of a Palestinian standing in front of him in the area of the village of Faqqu'a near Jenin, stating that 'preliminary questioning of commanders reveals that the friction began when several Palestinians gathered around a shepherd in the area.' It was further stated that 'an IDF force of regular combat soldiers reinforcing the sector during the holiday arrived at the location, and then warning shots were fired in the air, followed by shooting at the lower body. The reason for the shooting is still under investigation.'
