A minor earthquake was felt in northern Israel around 9:57 pm on Saturday, reaching a magnitude of 3.4. According to the Geophysical Institute of Israel, the temblor hit 22 kilometers (14 miles) outside of Nahariya, originating 10 kilometers (6 miles) below the sea's surface. No injuries or damage were reported.
According to the reports, the quake lasted a few seconds and was felt in the Haifa and Krayot regions.

"The earth moved in Haifa, close the sea," said Ayelet, a reader. "It lasted only a few seconds but felt powerful, at least on a top floor of a multi-story building… I felt the couch moving underneath me."
Ziv Or, another Haifa resident, said that he rushed to get his daughter outside the apartment but the quake stopped.
"It wasn't strong, but we felt it," he said.
