Six people – including five soldiers – were injured Wednesday in a rocket attack on the Eshkol Regional Council.
One of the soldiers was hospitalized in Beersheba's Soroka Medical Center in critical condition. The rest sustained light to moderate wounds.

Israeli communities continued to be barraged by projectiles on the eighth day of the IDF's offensive in Gaza. A projectile fired from the Strip has pummeled a home in the Beer Tuvia Regional Council. Over 25 rockets were fired in the morning hours; some were intercepted by the Iron Dome while the rest largely exploded in open areas.
While the salvo on the south persisted, central Israel came under fire as well; a blast on a public bus travelling in Tel Aviv injured 28 people. One was seriously wounded and another was moderately injured, while the rest were lightly hurt. According to the police, all signs indicate that an act of terror was at play. The police launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.
The IDF continued to pound terror hubs in Gaza using aircraft and gunboats overnight Tuesday. Among the targets were a building serving Hamas' internal defense ministry, security forces facilities west of Rafah and a police station in Khan Younis. A bank, bridges reportedly used to transport rocket launchers, a Hamas command center in the Strip's north and several other strategic sites were bombed as well.
The Palestinians reported that 138 people were killed since the beginning of Operation Pillar of Defense last Wednesday. Some sixty civilians, including 34 children, were among the dead.
