A new report by the Central Bureau of Statistics warned Wednesday that Israel is failing to stem its brain drain and some 20% of its professional mathematicians are leaving the country on a regular basis.
According to a Wednesday report in Yedioth Ahronoth, one out of five exact sciences PhDs in Israel has been overseas for over three years.

The majority of those seeking overseas employment are economists ,engineers, mathematicians and doctors, the report said.
The report also said that 10.5% of all exact sciences PhD snow live abroad and that 7.2% of those who graduate their medical Master's programs chose to do the same.
- Israel is also losing its engineers: According to the Central Bureau of Statistics 17.7% of Israelis with a PhD in engineering chose overseas employment as well.
