Ayalon Highway reopens after standstill

Tel Aviv Police reopen central Israel's main expressway in both directions after floods brought traffic to a halt. Police say heavy rain, coming tide likely to force its closing again
Ynet reporters|Updated:
The Ayalon Highway has been opened in both directions, north and south, Tuesday afternoon, after being closed for over nine hours due to flooding.
Police had closed the expressway – for the first time in a decade – fearing the Ayalon River will overflow. By mid-day, water levels at the HaShalom intersection in central Tel Aviv reached 40 centimeters.
