“Damascus retaliation against the illegal move of the Zionist regime is a right of the Syrian people,” Mohammad Hassan Asafari, a member of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, said on Thursday.

He added that Israel 'smove was a clear breach of international law, saying it violated Syrian sovereignty. Asafari urged the international community to take a firm stand on the issue.
The Iranian lawmaker emphasized that during the upcoming summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Egypt ,Muslim countries should not merely issue a statement in condemnation of the attack but should also adopt a firm stand vis-à-vis Israeli officials.
Asafari noted that if a proper response is not given at present, Israel will not hesitate to carry out further attacks on Syrian territory.
- He urged the OIC, the UN and the Security Council to condemn the airstrike and the violation of Syria's airspace.
