Police: Letter accusing Sa'ar of inappropriate conduct fake

Commissioner Danino says document claiming education minister had inappropriate relations with employee in his office 'definitely a forgery'

A week after Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein ordered police to look into a letter claiming Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar had inappropriate relations with an employee in his office, Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino said the document was forged.

Speaking at a Tel Aviv District Police conference on Tuesday, Danino said, "The examination showed that the 'Sa'ar document' is definitely a forgery."
The letter, which was signed by "M.C.," was initially attributed to the female employee with the same initials, but she denied ever having writing it. In an interview with Channel 10, conducted immediately after the story broke, she said "I have nothing to do with this letter and the things that are written in it never happened."
The woman's father called the letter a "blood libel."
The letter, which was addressed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and was recently sent to members of the Likud Central Committee, said Sa'ar should not be reappointed as education minister.
In the letter, M.C. complained about Sa'ar's sexual misconduct and claimed she had a romantic relationship with Sa'ar, during which the minister took advantage of his position.
