The United States has called on several Arab countries in the Persian Gulf to be ready for a short, intensive military operation after the midterm elections scheduled for November 3. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources briefed on the details of the conversations. According to the publication, the contacts through diplomatic and military channels are part of a series of indications that Washington and Jerusalem are preparing for high-intensity combat operations against Tehran, in order to push it toward negotiations. The Journal emphasized that U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet decided whether to carry out the move, but is leaning toward supporting a large-scale attack.
