Knesset Member Ayelet Shaked (Habyit Hayehudi) is pushing a bill aimed at preventing what she dubs as "incitement from within parliament" by Arab MKs.
The proposal was presented following a heated Knesset debate during which Arab MKs tore a bill that would see illegal Bedouin communities in the Negev evicted.

The act drew sharp criticism from right-wing parties. MK Shaked is now proposing to amend the Knesset Basic Law by establishing sanctions on legislators.
The explanation to the bill states that the Knesset Basic Law currently prevents candidates who negate the existence of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, incite to violence or endorse an armed struggle by an enemy state, from running for a Knesset seat.
Shaked seeks to apply these standards to acting MKs and dismiss them in case they are seen to be acting in violation of the law.
She is proposing dismissing MKs by a vote of two thirds of the Knesset House Committee and a Supreme Court vote requiring the consent of seven justices.
Meanwhile, Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein has asked the Knesset 'sEthics Committee to hold a discussion on the behavior of the Arab MKs during Monday's session. Edelstein himself will also consider sanctioning the MKs.
