Gidon Tish, one of the most prominent players for Hapoel Tel Aviv in the 1950s and 1960s and considered one of the top midfielders in Israeli soccer during that era, has died at age 86. Tish was one of the most iconic figures of the Reds' golden generation and was a key contributor to the club's greatest successes. At just 17 years old, he was first called up to the senior national team and for years held the title of the youngest player to wear the national jersey. Tish made 36 appearances for the national team and was also part of the squad that won the 1964 Asian Cup held in Israel. During the tournament, he also scored his only goal in national team colors, against South Korea.
