On Tuesday, an IDF unit noticed two Syrians had infiltrated an unmanned IDF post in the Golan.
  • According to IDF Spokesman Yoav Mordechai, the two suspects who seized the unmanned IDF post Tuesday were civilians hunting for metal and not, as was initially reported, militants with the Syrian rebel forces.
Soldiers with the Nahal Brigade, who were patrolling the area and noticed the two Syrians in the post, shot in the air for deterrence purposes, and retaliatory fire followed from within Syrian territory.
As a result of the shooting, the two Syrian suspects fled back to Syria.
