Police and the Tel Aviv Municipality are cracking down on businesses owned by Eritrean and Sudanese migrants near the city's Central Bus Station. Municipal workers are equipped with warrants authorizing the closure of some 30 businesses.
The operation comes amid complaints by Israeli business owners who claim that foreigners have taken over the area. Among the closed businesses are pubs, clubs and restaurants servicing the migrant population.

A check conducted by the municipality revealed that all migrant-owned businesses did not have the necessary permits. Some of the businesses also sell alcohol which has led to claims that they lead to vandalism and violence.
The city has shut down migrant-owned business in the past but has now decided to launch a wider scale operation which may take another few days.
