Yourofsky was arrested 13 times between 1997 and 2001, and his short temper has resulted in several incidents throughout his career as an animal rights advocate and veganism lecturer. He is on his second lecture tour in Israel.

The columnist noted that Yourofsky is barred from entering the UK or Canada because of his history of violence.
- "If you went to the nearest concentration camp and you removed the animals and replaced them with humans, guess what you have? You have recreated Birkenau, Auschwitz ,"Yourofsky said to Ynet.
He added: "Let me ask you something. Why don't you go apologize to all the Nazi parents for all the horrible things that you say about Nazis?"
Yourofsky furiously claimed that the interviewer was provoking him throughout the interview: "Animals are being… killed and I'm being… raked over the goddamn coals."
