Clashes on Temple Mount
Two weeks ago, the Temple Mount was closed for visitors following rioting of masked Palestinians, who were throwing stones at policeman and civilians and barricaded themselves in the Al-Aqsa mosque. One policeman was lightly wounded from a stone that hit him. The incident occurred a day before Jerusalem Day, that went on as normal despite tensions.
Early June, the Jordanian government protested to the Israeli Foreign Ministry the fact Muslim worshippers were prevented from entering the Temple Mount complex. The Jordanian Foreign Ministry said Israel must take the necessary steps to stop the violation of worshippers' rights.
