The Trump administration has lifted restrictions imposed by the Biden administration on Hungary's participation in the Visa Waiver Program. The Department of Homeland Security announced that following security measures taken by Budapest, all benefits that were removed in recent years have been restored to Hungary, including the ability to receive ESTA approval valid for two years and for multiple use until the end of September 2025. The decision removes restrictions on Hungarian citizens that were implemented in 2021 and reduced in 2023, marking "strengthened security cooperation between the two countries."
