Justice Minister Yariv Levin has appealed to the Supreme Court requesting a reconsideration of its disqualification of retired judge Asher Kula from overseeing the investigation of former Chief Military Prosecutor Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, stating he has reached an "impasse." Levin claims the Supreme Court's requirements for the investigation supervisor position are "a combination that cannot be implemented." Levin added that Kula would take a leave of absence from his current role as Ombudsman for Judiciary Complaints if his appointment is approved.
