The warmer weather did not stop the children of Israel on Thursday who took over the streets in costumes for the Adloyada - the annual Purim carnival.
Thousands arrived to the Adloyada in Holon, while in Ashkelon, children delighted in the sight of massive floats of Hello Kitty, Kung Fu Panda and Shrek. Petah Tikva held a parade of massive characters, some of them 20 meters tall.
In Ashkelon, the family of Avra Mangisto, the Israeli who accidentally crossed the border into Gaza, blocked the parade for a short while in protest of the stagnation in talks for his release. After a short confrontation, police removed them.
Netanya's carnival had a movies theme, and included displays of Marilyn Monroe, Harry Potter, Spiderman, and many others.
