Golden statue of PM Netanyahu erected at Rabin Square

Residents of Tel Aviv were shocked to find a golden statue of PM Netanyahu installed outside the municipality building on Rabin Square; municipality says sculptor has until 12:58 to take it down or face a fine.

A golden statue of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been put up on Rabin Square outside the Tel Aviv municipality.
Sculptor Itay Zelit is behind the sculpture, and was quoted as saying "this is the situation we find ourselves in."

A city worker put a warning on the statue, saying that if it wasn't taken down by 12:58pm, the city would remove the statue itself and fine the artist.
A Tel Aviv municipal spokesperson said that "on the one hand, freedom of expression is important. On the other, exhibits such as these must be coordinated with the municipality."
