Director of the Meteorological Service, Dr. Amir Givati, said that storm "Byron," expected to peak between Wednesday and Thursday night, "is not a storm or hurricane like those we know from America. There will indeed be strong winds, and we need to prepare for that. There could be damage from winds reaching speeds of about 80-90 km/h, and streets in cities in central Israel might be closed due to rainfall amounts." Givati noted that "what's circulating on social media is exaggerated. I heard about Tel Aviv being underwater - no, that's not the situation. This is a significant event with a lot of rain, but not something a city cannot handle."
