Mother of fallen hostage Oz Daniel: 'Burial is not a privilege. It's a covenant with the state'

Merav Daniel, whose son Oz is being held as a fallen soldier in the Gaza Strip, said at the Hostages Square that 'burial is not a privilege or a special right. It is the duty of a society that values life, it is the obligation of a society that commits to sending its children to the battlefield.' According to her, 'There is an unwritten covenant between the state and its sons and daughters – they give their lives for it, and it is obligated to bring them home. Alive – and if, God forbid, they have fallen – then to a dignified rest, in the soil of the land they so loved and fought for.'
