Rabid pet dog traveled in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Health Ministry publishes route

The Health Ministry reported a rabid pet dog to which 25 people were exposed. According to the ministry's announcement, on Thursday, May 28, the dog arrived with its owner by train from Navon Station in Jerusalem to HaShalom Station in Tel Aviv at around 3:30 p.m. The dog was also at Azrieli Mall, Hilton Beach, Metzitzim Beach and Kaplan and Dizengoff streets in the city. It returned to Jerusalem by train and came into contact with other dogs and children. It was further reported that 'We are asking anyone who was in contact, or whose pets came into contact with the infected animal or a stray animal in the area of the incident, between the dates of May 22, 2026 and June 2, 2026 inclusive, to urgently contact the Jerusalem District Health Bureau, telephone 02-5314820, 02-5314847, the Tel Aviv District Health Bureau, telephone 03-5684631, or the health bureau closest to their place of residence in order to consider receiving preventive treatment. After business hours and during the weekend, please go to the emergency room at a hospital.'
