The Lebanese newspaper "Al-Akhbar," which is affiliated with Hezbollah, reported that ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to Egypt, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is trying to recruit as many European leaders as possible to participate in signing the agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip. A source in the presidency said that several European senior officials have expressed interest in participating, including French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. It was also reported that el-Sisi "wants to turn the signing into a celebration, in an attempt to prevent Israel from canceling the agreement in the near future."
