Coalition advancing law that would allow any government to replace senior civil service officials

|
The coalition is advancing a bill that will be brought up for discussion in the Ministerial Committee on Legislation on Sunday, which would allow each new government to replace senior civil service officials with appointments from the incoming government. This was learned by ynet. The law, submitted by MKs from Jewish Power and Likud, stipulates that each new government can replace senior officials in public service, including the Attorney General, IDF Chief of Staff, heads of Mossad and Shin Bet, Police Commissioner, Prison Service Commissioner, Civil Service Commissioner and the Head of the Budget Division in the Treasury - during the first 100 days of the government's term. This applies provided that the office holder has completed at least two-thirds of their term.
