Blue and White Chairman Benny Gantz was asked by Ynet whether he was wrong to adopt the unity government message and what caused him to withdraw despite the party publishing statements that according to polls it would pass the electoral threshold. He responded: "Let everyone do a simple test. National Unity has many supporters among the Israeli public. Let everyone take a central issue in the country and Israel, how do I make it sustainable. An economic plan, a service plan – this can only be done with a unity government." Regarding the second question, he replied: "I wasn't convinced it would cross the election threshold itself. I didn't want someone to cast a Blue and White ballot and there be no result on the other side."
