The legal opinion from the Likud party's legal adviser regarding the nature of the vote for the chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee was distributed to the faction at the request of current chairman MK Yuli Edelstein. According to the opinion, the vote for electing the chairman should be open unless Likud faction chairman Ofir Katz decides otherwise. A source in Likud said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to demand an open vote while simultaneously attempting to remove MK Boaz Bismuth from the race. Meanwhile, Likud MK Eliyahu Revivo has submitted his candidacy for the position.
