Housing Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf will not attend the Memorial Day ceremony for fallen Israeli soldiers at the Kiryat Gat cemetery, after bereaved families sent him a letter requesting he not participate. Initially, Goldknopf announced he would attend the ceremony despite the families' request, but has now decided not to come. His office stated that the minister is expected to pray at the Western Wall instead.
