Health Ministry recalls Gal Spices black pepper due to high toxin levels

The Health Ministry has issued a recall for ground black pepper produced by Gal Spices, manufactured by Teval Spices and Food Products Ltd. Health Ministry testing found levels of aflatoxins (toxins) exceeding permitted limits, and the product was manufactured in violation of regulations. The notice applies to the following product packages: Product name - ground black pepper; Brand - Gal Spices; Manufacturer - Teval Spices and Food Products Ltd.; Contents - 50-gram bag; 50-gram plastic jar; 80-gram plastic jar; 120-gram plastic jar. Best used by: all expiration dates up to and including 02/2028. Aflatoxins are naturally occurring fungal toxins that can cause illness and long-term harm.
