Lapid calls on government supporters to strike: 'This is not defiance. No one has a monopoly on emotions'

|
Opposition leader Yair Lapid appealed to government supporters in a social media post, calling on them to strike on Sunday. "This is not defiance, it's not part of the dispute, it's not about the opposition," he wrote. "Strike out of solidarity, because the families have asked for it and that's a good enough reason, because no one has a monopoly on emotions, on mutual responsibility and on Jewish values. Strike even if you think differently about the war, about reserve duty, about the draft-dodging law. You can simply stop for one day and say that this is terrible and sad, and that you are not turning away or telling people whose lives have been destroyed to 'shut up.'"
